March 16th 6 p.m. Earthquake and Tsunami Awareness and Preparedness Fair at the Humboldt Grange #501, located at 5845 Humboldt Hill Road, Eureka, Ca.
Find out from local geologist about the events of December 20, 2022 and January 1, 2023, what happened and what we can expect in the future. Local Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT) will share what you can do to help prepare, and how to respond to local events, address the psychological and mental health aspects of responding to a disaster, hear from local Emergency Responders and local and State Offices of Emergency Services (OES). Also hear from the National Weather Service and plans for the upcoming Tsunami Awareness Week (March 27th – 31st) and plans for the next King Salmon Tsunami Evacuation drill scheduled for next fall. Come for the science, stay for dinner.
